But, while looking at the paragraph, I decided to change the "and" in the first sentence to "and then". Grammarly complained about the ".only been 1st officer." sequence and wanted an "a" or "the" in front of it. I've only been 1st officer here for a couple of years, just since I passed my Pilot exam, but I know the ship. I could have waited to see who bought it and offered to work for them. I'd say no because it leaves things worse than they were before.
